KURINUKI series

The KURINUKI series is manufactured by hollowing out the red part of a “Keyaki” (Zelkova) log to form a shell with the thinnest wall achievable (8-10mm) with reinforcing components. This series, despite being hollowed out, is characterized by a clear and natural sound which comes from a well resonating drum body. An optional carved reinforcement rib can also be selected. The carved rib manufactured using the reinforcement rib method ( Japan utility model No. 3237268 ). gives the instrument further strength and a unique presence, elevating the one and only drum to a work of art. Each drum is custom made to the customer’s specification of size and parts.

BLOCK SOLID series

The BLOCK SOLID series is manufactured using the block solid method (Japan utility model No. 3234508). Various components are carved out with the minimum number of blocks (2-10) which maximizes the unique acoustic characteristics of each material. The thin shell (8-10mm), like the KURINUKI series, is characterized by a clear and natural sound coming from a well resonating shell. Each drum is custom made to the customer’s specification of shell material, size and parts.
